John is a Managing Director of State Street Global Advisors and a Portfolio Manager on the Fundamental Growth and Core Equity team. John co-manages the Global Equity Select portfolio. He has managed international equity portfolios since 2007 and has also provided research coverage for Chemicals, Construction Materials, Containers & Packaging, Papers & Forest Products and Utilities.
John joined SSGA in July 2016 through its acquisition of GE Asset Management (GEAM). He joined GEAM in 1995. Prior to joining GEAM, John worked at Merrill Lynch and has been employed in the investment industry since 1992.
John holds a BS in Business Management from Fairfield University. He earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute.

Yi Shi joined Pictet Asset Management in 2022 as a Client Portfolio
Manager and Engagement Specialist in the Thematic Equities team.
Prior to Pictet, Shi worked for Royal Bank of Canada in their wealth
management business advancing ESG integration into equity
investments, advisory, and research. He has also held roles with Rhode
Island Infrastructure Bank and Connecticut Green Bank focused on
clean energy and green infrastructure initiatives.
Shi received a B.A. in Physics and a B.S. in Society and Environment
from the University of California, Berkeley. He also received a Master of
Environmental Management from Yale University’s School of the
Environment, and an MBA in Funds Management from the University of
Toronto, Rotman School of Management.

Portfolio Manager
Portfolio rebalancing, though extensively studied in financial markets, is often overlooked by investment practitioners despite its significant impact on portfolio returns and risk.
We will investigate different rebalancing approaches to ascertain the optimal frequency for improved risk-adjusted outcomes and evaluate the effectiveness of various methods.
Additionally, we will examine the incorporation of a rebalancing strategy into tactical asset allocation.
Jason Swartz is an experienced strategist and portfolio manager, currently responsible for the tactical asset allocation capability of Old Mutual Life Assurance Company (South Africa) Limited's policyholder and shareholder assets. He joined Old Mutual Investment Group as a strategist in 2019.
Jason holds a M.Bus.Sc (Finance) and is a CFA Charterholder.
