Various ways to capitalize on Private Credit within your portfolio

-       The pendulum has swung from private equity to private credit.  While private equity has benefited from low interest rates, the now higher for longer rate environment means better return dynamics for private credit.

-       Senior secured loans and private credit may offer one of the most attractive risk-adjusted returns.

-       Private credit may offer strong income properties, regardless of whether interest rates are rising or falling. Senior secured loans have virtually no duration and loan prices are not affected by risking/falling interest rates.

Edward Williams

Investment Strategist – Multi Asset Business Development

Multi-Asset Income: Broader is Better

We expect a solid backdrop to be supportive for most assets in 2025. While we believe that the US is likely to continue to lead both economically and within capital markets, we anticipate that we will see a broadening of earnings delivery and a more even contribution to index returns. As we move through the year, ongoing geopolitical tensions and trade disputes will drive bouts of volatility, and richer market valuations have the potential amplify this. In our view, the environment for multi-asset income strategies to generate both yield and upside potential remains attractive, but as always, a flexible and dynamic approach will remain key.

Presenter's profile

Edward Williams is a Vice President and Investment Strategist within the Multi-Asset Solutions team, where he is responsible for the business development of AB’s Luxembourg income-thematic multi-asset strategies. Williams joined AB in 2020 when he was based in Hong Kong, supporting client activity across Asia, before relocating to London and into his current role. Location: London
