Global Equities and The Next Era of Normal

While the Global Financial Crisis created a regime defined by low interest rates and low inflation, the global Pandemic has set the scene for a new regime to emerge from crisis. A world of higher inflation and higher interest rates changes more than just economic fundamentals, the shift to a new equilibrium path cuts across equity strategies and explicitly, where improving corporate returns may emerge in the next decade.

Turning Crisis Alpha into Absolute Return

Most strategies aim to offer either “Crisis Alpha” or “Tail-Risk Protection” but they

exhibit high costs (decay) during long periods in between crises. ABR believes that

beta and alpha are not mutually exclusive, and through systematic, risk-mitigated

implementation of dynamic strategies, beta can be provided when it is desired, and

alpha can be provided when it is needed.

This is a direct result of ABR’s core philosophy and study of human behavior (which

is prone to be irrational in periods of panic and euphoria), which the firm believes is

the only consistently predictable element of finance.

Presenter's profile

Ms. Shah is the Director of Sales at ABR Dynamic Funds. She has over 8 years of

experience in the financial industry. Mehar graduated from Baruch College with a

Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. Mehar holds an MBA from NYU

Stern School of Business. Mehar is also a CAIA Charterholder.
